As we have continued to manage through the Japan supply disruption, we felt it was necessary to address the upcoming April 30th scheduled UOBG expiration of coupon earned in the 4th quarter of 2010. We recognize this has affected our ability to supply customers with certain products, and the potential strain this may cause our loyal customers. As a result, we will be postponing the planned expiration, knowing the possible impact the allocation of certain product categories may have on our UOBG customers’ ability to redeem coupon balances prior to April 30th. A major factor in the decision to provide an extra 90 days is that orders for wires, which are typically our heaviest category for redemption, have been restricted by the allocation plan.
While we anticipate this 90-day extension will be more than adequate for you to have the opportunity to redeem all coupon balances earned in Q4, we reserve the right to modify this decision moving forward. We think you’ll agree that this action demonstrates our continuing commitment to treat our customers fairly at all times and to cushion the impact of the natural disaster in Japan, to whatever degree possible.
